Bittensor Price Jumps as Bitcoin-Like Scarcity Narrative Returns to TAO
Bittensor price has moved sharply higher, with TAO trading around $255.36, up more than 10% in the latest session. The move has taken the token above a descending trendline that had contained its recovery since the earlier 2026 highs, while TAO token price has also reclaimed the $218-$236 moving-average cluster. The breakout comes with stronger derivatives activity, putting the $270-$275 region and eventually $300 on the radar if buyers can maintain control.
TAO’s Supply Model Revives the Bitcoin Comparison
The renewed attention around TAO is closely tied to its monetary structure. Bittensor has a 21 million maximum supply, while its issuance declines through protocol-defined halvings. The first halving in December 2025 reduced base emissions from 1 TAO to 0.5 TAO per block. That framework has similarities with Bitcoin, but TAO’s value proposition is different. Bitcoin derives its scarcity narrative from its role as a decentralized monetary asset, whereas TAO sits at the center of Bittensor’s decentralized AI network, where subnets compete for emissions and capital.
